About Donna

Hi, my name is Donna I. Morris. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  I have a bachelor’s degree in history from Brigham Young University and master’s degree from the University of Utah in Education. I taught High School Honors History and coached a high performing speech and debate team for several years until I became a stay-at-home mom after the birth of my first biological child.

Rewind to 2002, the year I came home from serving as a missionary in sunny Anaheim California. This was the year I met the love of my life, Geoffrey F. Morris, who came complete with six children.  After a beautiful courtship, Goeff and I married in the Salt Lake City Temple in 2003.

From the beginning of our marriage to the present, Geoff and I have had a revolving door with our six kids. In the beginning of our marriage, Geoff and I served as long distant parents to our six children who would come throughout the year for holidays and a summer vacation.  For the last twelve years of marriage, we have served as full-time parents when our oldest children chose to enjoy their high school experience with us. We learned to balance the needs of full-time kids while the rest of the children visited throughout the year. Later in our marriage we were able to have three biological children (thanks to God’s miracles and an amazing IVF team) together. These children now play with our eight grandchildren! Neither Geoff nor I, could ever have imagined the many twists and turns of family life together. We feel deeply grateful for the Lord’s guiding hand and strength through the ups and downs that naturally come in this life.

I have a passion for empowering stepfamilies.  I am the author of “A Practical Guide for the Latter-day Saint Stepfamily: Tools and Tips for Creating a Happy and Successful Blended family.” I want members of stepfamilies to have as many tools, strategies, knowledge, and tips for success as possible. I am looking forward to creating great content for this website.

My sweetheart

I am happily married to this handsome man.

We had no idea what we were in for when we married 20 years ago. I'm so thankful we had faith in each other and the Lord's blessing on our life together.

This picture was taken in Stockholm Sweden with our absolute favorite ice cream. Yum!
